Winemakers Comments
The Cherry Avenue vineyard wines continue to evolve as the vines age. The 2010 vintage shows increased depth and complexity. This was also a perfectly hot and dry year, so the wine is also very rich, concentrated and flavorful. The result is a pronounced nose of ripe cherries and berries, violets, and punctuated with a wonderful earthiness. As always, outstanding balance on the palate includes great flavor, structure and a lingering finish. Cherry Avenue Pinot Noir 2010 was awarded a silver medal at the 2012 Canadian Wine awards. It will reward cellaring as it will continue to improve over the next 7 to 10 years.

Reviews and Accolades

This is a generous, quite complex pinot noir with moderate colour depth and evolving ruby-garnet colour.  The nose is nicely generous with cran-sour cherry and herbs nicely etched with wood smoke and spice.  It's medium weight, fleshy and a touch sour on the finish; with firm tannin and some earthiness.  Very good to excellent length.  Best 2014 - 2017.  Tasted by David Lawrason - March 2013.

Whether it's from the power of suggestion or not, I found distinct red cherry aromas to dominate the ripe, cool and attractively complex nose.  The round, supple and delicious middle weight flavors possess solid depth and lenght on the balanced finish that is suffciently supple that it could be drunk now though for my taste, I would allow a few years in the cellar first.  89 - Allen Meadows - The Burghound

Food Pairings
Pinot is the best of food pairing wines because of its flexibility. Cherry Avenue works with virtually all of your favorites, always a great choice. This vintage is especially substantial, and that extends the range of the foods which can be paired with it. It is in fact difficult to imagine a dish that wouldn't work here. Carefully seasoned filet of beef or pork, roasted chicken with herbs, or duck confit are great choices. Try it with your holiday celebration. It is delicious with stuffed turkey and baked ham.
